USED FOR HEATING

Oil #2 / furnace oil

The #2 light oil (furnace oil) is used as a fuel for forced air furnaces, hot water boilers as well as water heaters. This is the most commonly used fuel. Its flow or degree of thickening is -8°C. For this reason, it is important that the tank be stored in a cool area such as the basement.

Oil #1 / Stove oil

The #1 light oil (stove oil) serves as fuel for appliances using a carburator (such as an oil stove) or a convector (such as a space heater). The MONITOR (sealed combustion system) also functions with this type of oil. This #1 oil should be used in these appliances as they function by gravity and have a very slow drip and the carburator is very sensitive to soot. This product is lighter and more refined, ensuring an optimal function of your appliance. The flow or degree of thickening is -40°C . This is why we recommend this oil for outside tanks or areas that are not heated. It sells for a few cents more per liter because it is more refined.

USED AS FUEL

Clear / white diesel

The clear / white diesel is mainly utilized in heavy transportation and construction machinery. Its chemical content varies according to seasons. In the winter, diesel must be more fluid. The flow or degree of thickening for diesel is adapted to each season. The winter diesel is fluid down to -40° C as the regular diesel stays fluid down to -25°C. When you fill your diesel tank, it is important that your supplier has the right product for the season.

The price for diesel includes 0.1720$/ litre of road taxes (provincial government) and 0.04$/ litre of excise taxes (federal government).

Colored diesel

The colored diesel is destined to farm equipment, generators, or all other equipment that is not propelled (ex. Sifting machine, crusher, etc.)

As with white diesel, its chemical content varies with the seasons, and must be more fluid in the winter. Its flow or degree of thickening is also adapted to each season. The winter colored diesel is fluid down to -40° and regular diesel down to -25°C. When you fill up your tank, make sure your supplier has the right product for the season.

The colored diesel price includes 0.04$/ litre of excise taxes (federal government).
